The Kerth Categories<\/i><\/span><\/center><\/h2>\n

Don’t know which category to nominate a particular story in?<\/p>\n

In the past, there has been some discussion about what stories should fit into what category. But hopefully we’ve solved that problem! Each category now has a description that goes along with it to hopefully help you FoLCs understand what stories belong there. If there is still any confusion, feel free to email the Kerth Committee and ask. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

DISCLAIMER: The Kerth Committee does its best to keep these categories unchanged on the ballot, however, we may need to tweak category size requirements or to add, delete or combine categories in order to best represent the nominations that are submitted.<\/p>\n

Best Micro Short (1-5k):<\/span> Very, very short stories.<\/p>\n

Best Super Short (6-10k):<\/span> Very short stories.<\/p>\n

Best Short Story (11-50k):<\/span> Short stories of any subject or tone.<\/p>\n

Best Mid-Length Story (51-200k):<\/span> Mid-length stories of any subject or tone.<\/p>\n

Best Epic (201+):<\/span> Long stories of any subject or tone.<\/p>\n

Best Introspective:<\/span> A story that gets into the mind and motives of a character – ANY character, main or supporting.<\/p>\n

Best Waffy Short (1-10kb):<\/span> Story that develops Warm and Fuzzy Feelings<\/p>\n

Best Waffy Long (11kb+):<\/span> Story that develops Warm and Fuzzy Feelings<\/p>\n

Best Character Development Short (1-10kb):<\/span> A story that shows a character’s growth over a period of time.<\/p>\n

Best Character Development Long (11kb+):<\/span> A story that shows a character’s growth over a period of time.<\/p>\n

Most Innovative Idea Short (1-10kb):<\/span> Story line that is an original creative idea.<\/p>\n

Most Innovative Idea Long (11kb+):<\/span> Story line that is an original creative idea.<\/p>\n

Best Comedy Short (1-10kb):<\/span> A humorous story.<\/p>\n

Best Comedy Long (11kb+):<\/span> A humorous story.<\/p>\n

Best Villain:<\/span> Only villains eligible for this category.<\/p>\n

Best Original Character \/ Supporting Character Short (1-10kb):<\/span> Rewards a special character from stories which strongly highlight a supporting character from the series or creates a new, interesting character that plays an important role in the story. No size restrictions. (Sorry, but versions – no matter how altered – of Clark or Lois do not qualify as Original or Supporting Characters).<\/p>\n

Best Original Character \/ Supporting Character Long (11kb+):<\/span><\/p>\n

Short Relationship (1-10kb):<\/span> A story that focuses on a relationship (romantic or platonic).<\/p>\n

Long Relationship (11kb+):<\/span> A story that focuses on a relationship (romantic or platonic).<\/p>\n

Short Episode Adaptation (1-10kb):<\/span> Rewrite of an episode.<\/p>\n

Long Episode Adaptation (11kb+):<\/span> Rewrite of an episode.<\/p>\n

Best Revelation Short (1-10kb):<\/span> Stories which contain a revelation about Clark being Superman. The person finding out can be Lois or any other character.<\/p>\n

Best Revelation Long (11kb+):<\/span> Stories which contain a revelation about Clark being Superman. The person finding out can be Lois or any other character.<\/p>\n

Best Alt-Universe \/ Elsewhere \/ Next Generation:<\/span> Alternate Universe OR story where Lois and Clark are someplace else or somewhere else. Story with Lois and Clark’s children.<\/p>\n

Best Drama:<\/span> Story with a dramatic story line.<\/p>\n

Best Seasonal Story:<\/span> Story taking place around a holiday.<\/p>\n

Best Crossover:<\/span> A story that introduces characters from another television series outside of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman but takes place in the Lois and Clark universe<\/p>\n

Best New Author:<\/span> Limited to authors who first published their Lois & Clark stories in the past year.<\/p>\n
